Our Story
Gordon Village General Practice
Gordon Village GP has been caring for the community since 1930...
making it one of the oldest general practices on the Upper North Shore and a cornerstone of local healthcare for nearly a century. Our history runs deep — it was here that Dr Albert Himmelhoch, a former owner of the practice, established the training program that became the Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners, the benchmark qualification for general practitioners across Australia. Dr Peter Kluger, who has called this practice home for 50 years, was one of the first GPs in the country to complete that Fellowship — and he is still here today.
Today, under the ownership of Dr Sarah Saw, Gordon Village GP is entering an exciting new chapter. With a deep respect for the practice’s remarkable legacy and a passion for modern, personalised medicine, Sarah is committed to building on nearly a century of care and ensuring this practice continues to serve the Gordon community for generations to come — just in time for our centenary.
Gordon Village GP is fully accredited with AGPAL (Australian General Practice Accreditation Limited), reflecting our commitment to the highest standards of quality and safety in patient care. We are also proudly independent and doctor-owned, guided by one thing: the best possible care for the people who walk through our doors.

Dr Peter Kluger
MBBS | USYD, FRACGP
Peter carries with him one of the most remarkable stories in Australian general practice. As one of the first GPs in Australia to complete the Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners —the training program established by Dr Albert Himmelhoch, a former owner of the practice — he represents an extraordinary thread of continuity that connects our history to the present day. With 50 years at the practice, the loyalty of his patients speaks for itself, with many families trusting him across generations. A skilled clinician and diagnostician with a great sense of humour, Peter brings genuine warmth to every consultation and is passionate about healthy ageing. When he’s not with patients, you’ll find him perfecting his golf swing.
