Fees & Billing

Gordon Village General Practice is a private billing practice. We are fully accredited with AGPAL (Australian General Practice Accreditation Limited), reflecting our commitment to the highest standards of quality and safety in patient care.

We believe that high quality, personalised care requires the time and resources to do it properly, and our fees reflect our commitment to that standard. As a courtesy to our patients, we process Medicare claims on your behalf at the time of your appointment. You will receive your Medicare rebate directly into your nominated bank account, typically within 24 hours.

Consultation Fees (from 1 April 2026)

Payment is required at the time of consultation. We accept EFTPOS and credit card.

Please note that procedures, mental health care plans, eating disorder management plans, and ADHD consultations attract higher fees. Please contact the practice for details.

Cancellations

We understand that life doesn’t always go to plan. If you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, we kindly ask that you give us as much notice as possible —this allows us to offer your appointment time to another patient who may need it. Appointments cancelled or not attended with less than 4 hours notice will attract a cancellation fee of $50. This fee is not claimable through Medicare or private health insurance.

To cancel or reschedule, please call us on (02) 9498 1888 as soon as possible. We appreciate your understanding —your consideration helps us run the practice smoothly and ensures timely care for all of our patients.

Ways to Reduce Your Out-of-Pocket Costs

  • Register for the Medicare Safety Net, which increases your rebates once the annual threshold is reached

  • Ask your GP about a Chronic Disease Management Plan if you have an ongoing condition

  • If you are over 75 and registered with MyMedicare, you may be eligible for a bulk-billed annual health assessment

  • Book the right appointment length to address all your concerns in one visit

Aged Care & Home Visit Fees

Fees for residential aged care visits and home visits vary depending on the nature and location of the visit. Please contact the practice for further information.

Workers Compensation

We welcome workers compensation patients. If your visit is related to a workers compensation claim, please let our reception team know when booking your appointment.

Workers compensation patients are asked to settle their consultation fee on the day. A receipt will be provided for you to submit to your insurer for reimbursement. Medical reports and consultations relating to established workers compensation claims are billed in accordance with SIRA guidelines.

Please note that if your claim is not approved, you will be personally responsible for payment of all fees.

Telehealth

We offer telehealth appointments for patients who are unable to attend the practice in person. Please call our reception team to book a telehealth consultation.

Please note that standard consultation fees apply for telehealth appointments. Medicare rebates are available where eligible, however please be aware that patients who have not attended the practice for a face-to-face consultation within the last 12 months will not be eligible for a Medicare rebate for telehealth services.
