Healthcare Services
Gordon Village General Practice provides personalised healthcare services for individuals and families across Gordon and Sydney’s Upper North Shore, with a focus on continuity of care, preventative health and long-term wellbeing.
At the heart of everything we do is great general practice. Our experienced GPs provide comprehensive care for a wide range of acute and chronic conditions, from everyday illnesses and injuries through to complex medical presentations. We take the time to get to know our patients as individuals, building long-term relationships that allow us to provide truly personalised care. Whatever brings you through our doors, we are here to help.
Men can sometimes put off seeking medical care — and we understand that. Our doctors offer a straightforward, no-fuss approach to men’s health, covering cardiovascular health, diabetes management, prostate health, mental health, lifestyle medicine and preventive health assessments. We encourage our male patients to be proactive about their health.
Assessment, diagnosis support and ongoing management of ADHD for patients aged 6 and over, including medication prescribing for eligible patients. Dr Sarah Saw is a trained continuation prescriber for ADHD medication and works closely with families, schools and allied health professionals to provide coordinated, personalised care.
Our GPs offer compassionate, non-judgmental support for patients experiencing mental health challenges. Experienced in the assessment and management of anxiety, depression, stress and other mental health conditions, our doctors can also develop Mental Health Care Plans to support access to psychological services.
Living with a chronic condition requires ongoing, coordinated care. Our doctors develop personalised management plans for patients with diabetes, cardiovascular disease, respiratory conditions, and other long-term health issues, working collaboratively with specialists and allied health providers to support your health and quality of life.
A proactive approach to your health starts with knowing where you stand. We offer a range of Medicare-funded health assessments including 45-49 year old health checks, over-75 health assessments, and chronic condition management plans — an opportunity to review your overall health, identify any risks, and put a plan in place to keep you well.
Prevention is one of the most powerful tools in healthcare. Taking a proactive approach to health, our doctors work with patients to identify risk factors early and make sustainable lifestyle changes that support long-term wellbeing — whether it’s nutrition, exercise, sleep, stress management or smoking cessation.
Early detection saves lives. Our doctors offer comprehensive skin checks and skin cancer assessments, and are experienced in the diagnosis and management of skin conditions and skin cancers. A range of minor procedures can also be performed in clinic. We encourage all patients to have regular skin checks, particularly if you have a history of sun exposure or skin cancer.
Experienced in providing the clinical care and documentation required to support workers compensation claims, our doctors welcome workers compensation patients. Payment is required on the day and a receipt will be provided for reimbursement from your insurer. Medical reports and consultations are billed in accordance with SIRA guidelines.
From adolescence through to the postnatal period and beyond, our doctors offer personalised, evidence-based care across all aspects of women’s health. This includes contraception advice and prescribing, contraceptive implant (Implanon) insertion and removal, fertility and pre-conception counselling, and reproductive health. We take the time to listen and tailor our care to your individual needs.
Menopause is a significant transition in a woman’s life — and one that deserves thoughtful, personalised care. Dr Sarah Saw is a Member of the Australasian Menopause Society and has a special interest in supporting women through perimenopause and menopause. Whether you are experiencing symptoms for the first time or looking for a GP who truly understands this stage of life, we are here to help. Our approach is evidence-based, individualised and takes the whole person into account.
Our doctors provide confidential, non-judgmental care across all aspects of sexual and reproductive health. This includes STI screening and management, cervical screening, contraception advice and prescribing, and general sexual health consultations. We offer a safe and supportive environment where patients feel comfortable discussing sensitive health concerns.
Supporting women through pregnancy and the postnatal period is one of the most rewarding aspects of general practice. Our services include pre-conception counselling, shared antenatal care in collaboration with Royal North Shore and Hornsby Hospitals, and postnatal support including breastfeeding advice and care in the weeks following birth.
From newborns to teenagers, our GPs enjoy caring for children at every stage of development. Our services include routine childhood health checks, developmental assessments, childhood immunisations and vaccinations, and management of acute and chronic childhood conditions.
Keeping your vaccinations up to date is one of the simplest and most effective ways to protect your health. Our doctors provide immunisations for patients of all ages, including childhood vaccinations on the National Immunisation Program schedule, annual flu vaccinations, travel vaccinations, and adult immunisations such as shingles and pneumococcal vaccines. Please call our reception team to book your vaccination appointment.
Planning an overseas trip? Our doctors provide personalised travel health consultations including destination-specific advice, recommended vaccinations, and medications to keep you safe and healthy while travelling. We recommend booking well in advance of your departure date.
Quality healthcare should reach every patient, including those who are unable to come to us. Our doctors provide dedicated care for patients in residential aged care facilities and nursing homes, as well as home visits for established patients. Please contact our reception team to discuss your needs and arrange an appointment.
Can’t make it in? We offer telehealth consultations for patients who are unable to attend the practice in person, as well as online requests for repeat prescriptions and referrals for established patients. Please note that telehealth and in-person consultations attract the same fees — visit our Fees page for full details.
At Gordon Village General Practice, we understand that not every healthcare need requires a face-to-face appointment. We are happy to assist with repeat prescriptions and referrals for established patients of the practice.
These requests can be made by calling our reception team, who will pass your request on to your doctor for review. Once available, our online booking system will also allow you to submit requests directly online.
Please note that repeat prescriptions and referrals require clinical assessment by your doctor and attract a fee of $35. This reflects the time and professional judgement involved in reviewing your request safely and accurately.
Please allow up to 48 hours for your request to be processed. Please be aware that your doctor may determine that a consultation is required before a prescription or referral can be issued, in which case our standard consultation fees will apply. Please note that this service is not available for Schedule 8 medications or drugs of dependence, which require a face-to-face consultation.
