Technology & Your Care
At Gordon Village General Practice we are committed to providing the highest standard of care — and that means embracing technology that enhances the quality of your consultation.
Some of our doctors use Lyrebird Health, an AI-powered voice transcription service, to assist with clinical note-taking during consultations. Rather than typing notes while you speak, your doctor can focus entirely on you — listening carefully, maintaining eye contact, and giving their full attention to your history and examination. The result is a more human consultation experience and more accurate, detailed clinical records that support your ongoing care.
How Your Information is Kept Safe
Lyrebird Health is committed to safeguarding patient data and adheres to strict Australian privacy regulations. Key protections include:
-
Transcription is performed exclusively within Australia
-
Audio files are immediately destroyed after transcription
-
Transcriptions are redacted of sensitive, personally identifying information before being processed
-
Data is encrypted and stored securely, with only your treating doctor able to access your health information
-
By default, data is deleted from Lyrebird’s servers after seven days
Your Right to Opt Out
If you have any concerns or would prefer that AI transcription not be used during your consultation, please let your doctor know before your appointment begins. You have the right to opt out at any time.
